Santa’s Perspective On U.S. Politics

“Santa, what do you think of the current U.S. political environment," I asked. “A bunch of politicians have been very naughty,” replied Santa. .

“For they took no action to resolve very significant issues that affect Americans and others around the world," Santa continued.

"They allowed the U.S. to withdraw from global climate accords and were silent on global trade wars and presidential hush money payments."

"But the worst was their inaction when asylum seekers had their children taken away from them, as some of those children were placed in cages."

"Meanwhile, many parents were deported, and their children were left behind. When the public raised an outcry, the U.S. had few records and couldn't reunite all the children with their parents."

"What is the solution to all of this," I asked Santa. "Stop blaming each other," he replied, "And work together to solve these problems."

"In the meantime, this Christmas the politicians can expect lumps of coal in their stockings even as I try to figure out where those immigrant children are so we can bring them much needed presents."
