Cheap Charlie

Cheap Charlie, as he was known, saved his money, never sharing with others.

On his death bed, he told his wife to bury the money with him because he couldn’t stand the thought of parting with it.

So at his funeral service, his wife placed an ornate box in his coffin.

After the service, her friends asked, “Did you really put all of that miserable man's money in the coffin?”

“I did,” she replied with a smile. “But first I put his money in my bank account, and then I wrote him a check.”
