What constitutes safety?

This Is Real: In less than 10-minutes, an 11-year-old Florida boy hacked into a replica of the state elections website and changed the election results.

Fable: Stunned by this news, I met with U.S. Chief of National Security, General Willis "Mad Dog" Blunderfield.

"General Blunderfield, isn't our electoral system not only at risk from domestic and foreign powers, but also from middle school children?"

"Yes," replied the general, "But we are cracking down on the children. They can no longer hack our electoral system until after they finish their homework."

"But that doesn't solve the problem," I said. "After all the billions of dollars our nation has spent securing our electoral computers, they can be easily hacked."

"That's true," said Gen. Blunderfield. "But at least the kids can't hack our nuclear weapons codes."

"Not yet," I answered. "But that could happen tomorrow." 

"It could," replied the general. "But we're safe. Most U.S. children, adults and the president know nothing about geography. The kids could hack the nuclear codes but they would have no idea where to target and launch those weapons."
