The Lion and The Dove

One day a dove hovered over a skinny lion. “Let’s work together,“ said the dove to the lion.

“I’m afraid of birds of prey,“ the dove continued. “But they are afraid of you and if I am near you, they will keep their distance.”

“But what’s in it for me,“ asked the lion.

“Look how skinny you are,“ replied the dove. “Because no one is afraid of me, I can look in the jungle and tell you where you can get a good meal.” 

In that moment a deal was struck. And in the years that followed, the dove lived a happy and safe life and the lion never again missed a meal.

The moral: Unlikely partners can prosper together, if each one has strengths the other one needs.
