The Man With The Chocolate Pants

There once was a man who loved chocolate so much, that he went to the village chocolatier and said, "Can you make for me a pair of chocolate pants?"

"Chocolate pants," replied the chocolatier incredulously. "It will be a challenge but I'm sure I can do it.

"However you won't be able to sit down in them," the chocolatier added. "And they'll have no zipper and you will have to walk carefully so as not to break them, but as long as you understand these things, I'll gladly make the pants for you.

"And to hold those pants up, I'll make a belt of caramel."

"That's great," answered the man. And so it came to pass, as the chocolate pants were made for him.

Every time this man wore his chocolate pants, they looked so enticing and smelled so good, that his family and friends all asked to eat a piece of his pants.

He would break off pieces, starting with the pockets, and they and he joyously devoured them, licking every last morsel from their fingers.

The next day the man would take what remained of his pants to the chocolatier who would melt new and tasty chocolate patches into where the missing pieces had been.

"But there's just one problem," said the man with the chocolate pants. "They eat so much of my pants, that sometimes my underwear shows."

"It is a problem," replied the chocolatier, who was a very talented candy maker as well. "But I will solve it."

And so it came to pass that the man with the chocolate pants soon also happily had jelly bean underwear to wear in every color under the rainbow for all to enjoy.

With a smile I'm pleased to say the title of this piece was inspired on 9/21/14 and I was assisted through inspiration in its writing. Print Friendly and PDF
