An Oceanfront Dream Come True

I live in Southern California, and my dream was always to own an oceanfront home. But when I called my realtor, she said the Southern California coast from Malibu to Santa Monica to Newport Beach is way too expensive. Few people can afford it.

After we hung up, I was very sad thinking my oceanfront dream would never come true. But unexpectedly she called back shouting, “I have just the thing for you! And I’m coming right over to tell you about it! “

Within minutes, she arrived:

“It is right on the ocean front, with miles of unspoiled beaches,” she exclaimed. “The views are fantastic, and here is the best part, you can buy acres for pennies on the dollar. “

“Where is it,” I asked, my heart beating so fast, I could barely contain myself.

“It’s on the Strait of Hormuz,” she replied.

There was a moment of silence.

“Isn’t that very dangerous, “I asked. “No,” she replied. “In fact, it’s one of the safest places you could go. It is guarded by the US Navy and the Iran Navy. No one will ever bother you.”

“What about my career,” I asked. “It is so far away.” “Yes, but this place is ideal for your career,” she replied. “Like the US military industrial complex, you can sell a lot of things to many people, especially during war time. “

Suddenly feeling a burst of optimism, I cried out, “I’ll take it!" "Congratulations," she replied. And as we parted company, she handed me a metal helmet. “What is this for,” I asked. “Nothing really,” she said. “Over there it is a fashion statement. “
