Dear Reader: President Trump and the Republican controlled Senate are selecting a new conservative Supreme Court justice just before the presidential election, thus taking that selection away from the Democrats in case they win the presidential election. President Trump will now have selected 3 of the 9 justices. He is under fire for repeatedly violating his oath of office, including threatening to stay in office should he lose the election. This is unprecedented in U.S. history. By stacking the Court, he may have a better chance to stay in office if his case goes to the Supreme Court, claiming the election was rigged against him.
The Democrats response has been to threaten to "pack" the Supreme Court, adding more justices than the 9 authorized under the law, if their presidential candidate is elected, and if they also elect enough senators to control the Senate. If implemented, this unfortunate approach would further undermine the Court.
What follows is a satirical email discussion I had with my dear friend Yanin Ontiveros, in which I use the Democrat's Supreme Court logic.
Dear Yanin,
With President Trump about to name a new supreme court justice to replace renowned Ruth Bader Ginsburg, even as she lies in state at the U.S. Capitol, the Democrats are extremely upset and threatening to add more justices to the Supreme Court, ones they hope to select if they win the presidency and control of the Senate.
I checked, and there are NO REQUIREMENTS to be a Supreme Court justice. So I propose making 30 preschoolers justices. This would give working parents babysitting services and satisfy the Democrats desire to make jackasses of themselves [which coincidentally is the party symbol]. My questions to you are: Is Gabriel available? [Gabriel is Yanin's 3 1/2 year old grandson] If so, does he have friends available? And would they accept Lego toys as compensation? 😁

Dear Dick,
Laughing out loud at your below comment, I think Gabriel would love the position and he couldn't ask for a better compensation (he loves Legos), and if you add cake as a bonus he and his little friends will do a great job!! 😊😊 LOL!!!

Dear Yanin,
Making Gabriel and his preschool friends US Supreme Court justices apparently will work well, as long as they are paid in Legos and cake. And for those critics who claim these children aren’t qualified, I would refer to the Citizens United case (2010) in which the court ruled corporations are people and can donate all the money to elections they want. US elections have been inundated by corporate money ever since. I don’t believe the kids could make a decision worse than this.
But there is still a problem to solve: the Supreme Court may not have judicial robes small enough for these little kids. But I have a solution. Once they are confirmed, the boys will wear Superman costumes and the girls will wear Wonder Woman outfits.
Now it’s up to the Democrats. We’ve taken their idea and shown them how to do it. And considering all their other failed ideas from the Impeachment to the Stimulus Program lost in committees, this may be the best thing they’ve got going for them.

Dear Dick,
I couldn’t help picturing Gabriel and friends with their superheroes outfits as I was reading your lines, and feeling the big smile on my face as I kept going. Definitely we would have a better country and world if kids that age could rule it, their innocence and feelings towards others are so beautiful that we couldn’t ask for anything else, maybe only a piece of cake? LOL!!!
Con cariño,
Yanin,
I laughed out loud at your comment, even as I saw your inherent wisdom. Thank
you! 😁
