Environmental Sensitivity

The 28th Annual United Nations Climate Change Conference kicked off this morning in Dubai, with an expected attendance of 70,000 participants. A prominent focus of the conference will be the phasing out of fossil fuels.

Eager to capture the significance of the event, I looked forward to conducting interviews with some of the attendees.

As I waited at the airport, observing the arrival of numerous private jets, I eventually made my way to one of the world's most luxurious hotels in a convoy of limousines. The pervasive air-conditioning provided relief from the intense heat.

The experience was truly remarkable.

On the surface, it seemed that the affluent and influential were poised to dictate environmentally conscious lifestyles to others. However, I recognized that for any meaningful progress in addressing environmental challenges, leaders needed to be comfortable and unencumbered by what they say the rest of us should do.

My commitment is to match their sacrifices until we find solutions to these issues.
