California Post headline: “Professor travels with an emotional support chicken: ‘She can understand my emotions.’” (2/21/26)
Canadian psychology professor Sonia Kong travels everywhere with her 11-month-old therapy chicken, named Saturday, who always wears a specially designed diaper.
This relationship is impressive because:
Being a man, I acknowledge it is hard for any man to understand a woman’s emotions with the depth of a diaper wearing chicken. And unlike Saturday, none of us have the capacity to lay eggs.
That said, I’m thinking of becoming a therapy animal for Saturday, given all that she has to endure from Dr. Kong. And I can protect her and her flock from Chick-fil-A.
