Seeing all the chaos and cruelty in the world, Jesus decided to speak to mankind, and asked for television time.
“It doesn’t work that way,” replied the television networks. “You have to have an agent and there needs to be time to promote the event.”
"But this is vital," Jesus replied. "We must change the world." "Sounds good," the networks responded, "As long as you don't say anything controversial."
The networks then chose Sid, a Beverly Hills agent, who scheduled Jesus’ event in Las Vegas in three months, as he negotiated who would share in the revenues.
But 30 days before the event, Sid called Jesus. “Jesus,” he said, “Viewer interest is far smaller than was expected. We need to beef up the event.“
“What does that mean,“ Jesus asked.
“The promoters are adding rock stars to the event," Sid replied. "And to attract high rollers, the casinos are adding boxing matches.“
"Boxing," said Jesus. "You want me to be associated with violence?"
"No," replied Sid. "But this is the world today." And Sid added, "Rock stars want top billing, so we'll add your name after theirs as 'also scheduled to appear.' "
"I refuse to be a part of this," Jesus replied. "What a gross distortion of values. No wonder the world is so bad off. I quit."
And so it was: Jesus turned to the social media, and said, "My children. you can destroy yourselves and this planet as you're doing now."
"Or you can love and nurture one-another and make this a heaven on earth. The choice is one each of you must make, for you will bear the consequences."
Mankind replied by waving money and power at Jesus and asking him to endorse specific religions, political leaders, products and sales events.
Jesus answered them by leaving. As he said goodbye, he added, "You each have my message, what you do with it is up to you."
