"I am the richest person in the world," proclaimed the miser, all the while living as if he was broke.
"No you're not," replied the spender. "For the money brings you no fun. And when your life is over, you can't take the money with you. It is only good here and now."
Meanwhile, the spender spent all his money having fun but had no savings, only worries about what would happen to him in bad times.
Both wanted to change but neither could without the help of the other. And that’s what they did.
The miser shared some money with the spender and they had fun together, while the spender learned from the miser how to save money for bad times.
“I now have a life worth living,” said the miser. “And I now have savings,” replied the spender, both of them smiling broadly.
The Moral: Life is about balance. Live in the middle path, not in the extremes for the middle path offers the greatest happiness and security.
