Genovia is considered to be the most powerful nation in the world.
But in recent years despite its Constitution allowing only Parliament to declare war, its Presidents have fought wars wherever they choose.
Recently, I met with Genovia’s President, Willis Blunderfield to understand why.
“We’re keeping the world safe,” said President Blunderfield.
“How is war keeping the world safe,” I asked. “It’s simple,“ he answered. “We are killing or threatening all of our enemies, so we can bring peace to the world.”
“Has it worked,” I asked. “Not yet,” he replied. “But we are determined to continue these wars and threats until there is peace in the world.”
“Where do you get the money to pay for this,“ I asked. “We borrow it,“ he said. “But won’t Genovia eventually be too deep in debt to pay its bills?”
“Yes,” he replied. “But I won’t be the president when the time comes, so I won’t have to deal with it.”
Then he said, “I have to go now. But relax. The world is in good hands. And if things ever get out of control, we and a lot of others have many nuclear weapons to destroy whoever is necessary to have peace.“
